Custom Formulation

Your product, developed from the formula up

Custom formulation is where a product is designed from scratch, or rebuilt from something you already have, around your actives, your format, and what it takes to make it well at scale. We start with the formula because it decides everything that comes after.

What custom formulation is

Custom formulation means your product is developed specifically for you, rather than chosen from a list of existing products. We design the formula around the result you want, the ingredients you care about, the format it needs to take, and the way it has to be produced.

It's the right path when you have an idea but no formula yet, when an existing formula isn't performing or isn't manufacturable at scale, or when you want something on the shelf that no one else can sell. If you already have a finished formula and simply need it produced, contract manufacturing is usually the better fit.

Because we develop with manufacturing in mind from the first sample, the formula we land on is one that can actually be made, consistently, run after run.

See how the process works

From an early idea to a formula that's ready to make

Whether you're creating something new or improving what you already have, development moves through the same core work.

Formulation Development

Built from an idea, not a catalog.

We turn an early concept into a product you can actually sell, designed around your goals rather than adapted from something that already exists.

Formula Development

We design the formula around your active ingredients, your format, and what it takes to make it well.

Ingredient Strategy

We help you pick ingredients that fit the product's purpose, your budget, and how it needs to feel for the person using it.

Prototype and Optimization

We sample, adjust, and get the formula ready before anything moves into a full production run.

Every format formulates differently

A tablet, gummy, powder, capsule, and beverage each behave differently on the line and in the hands of the person using them. We formulate for what each one actually takes to make well.

Efficient Development Path

Tablets

Compression behavior, tablet weight, active load, and excipient balance, tuned for the format that's typically quickest to develop and produce.

Gummies

Flavor system, texture, active integration, serving size, and stability, balanced so the experience holds up as well as the formula.

Powders and Beverages

Solubility, dispersion, mouthfeel, flavor, and serving size, so a functional dose actually mixes clean and tastes right.

Capsules

Fill weight, ingredient density, capsule size, and flow behavior, for a clean, flexible delivery format.

How a formula comes together

Development follows a clear path, so you always know where the product stands and what comes next.

Discovery

We start with your goal, target consumer, actives, format, dosage, and timeline.

Evaluation

We assess ingredient needs, serving size, flavor direction, and manufacturing fit.

Development

We build or refine the formula around the format and the finished product it has to become.

Prototype

We sample and revise until the formula performs the way you intend and holds up the way it has to.

Production Path

Once it's locked, the formula moves cleanly into manufacturing and scale planning.

Designed with manufacturing in mind

A formula that can't be produced consistently isn't ready for market. We develop with how the product will be mixed, compressed, filled, deposited, flavored, packaged, and scaled in view from the start.

That's the difference between a formula that looks good on paper and one that's actually ready to make. It cuts down avoidable reformulation, smooths the handoff into production, and gives you a more practical path to a finished product.

For the right projects, formulation can also include evaluating delivery technologies and ingredient performance strategies, including Deeper Green™™, when they fit the product goal.

Questions about
formulation

The questions we hear most from brands before we start developing a formula.

Contact us
Do I need a formula to start?

No. Custom formulation is built for brands starting from an idea. If you already have a finished formula and just need it produced, contract manufacturing is usually the better fit.

What's the difference between formulation and white label?

Custom formulation develops a product specifically for you. White label starts from a product that already works, which gets you to market faster with less customization. We'll help you choose based on your goals and timeline.

Which formats can you formulate?

Tablets, gummies, powders, capsules, and beverages. We help you match the format to your actives, your dosing, and the experience you want.

Can you reformulate a product I already have?

Yes. If an existing formula isn't performing or can't be made at scale, we can rebuild it around better manufacturability and a clearer result.

How does formulation move into production?

Because we develop with manufacturing in mind from the first sample, a locked formula moves cleanly into our own production. There's no handoff to an outside manufacturer who wasn't part of the build.
